Max Vozoff received his Bachelors Degree with Honors in Electrical & Communications
Engineering in 1993 from Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Western Australia, and a Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering (Astronautics) from the University of Southern California in 2002.
Mr. Vozoff spent 8 years designing RF and communications hardware in commercial industry before moving to JPL, where he spent 6 years contributing to missions including GRACE, Jason, COSMIC, ST3/Starlight, ST5, OSTM, UAVSAR and other technology development programs, as well as System Engineering and numerous advanced concept studies.
From 2005 to 2010, Mr. Vozoff worked for SpaceX, serving as Senior Mission Manager, Program Manager for the COTS development, Product Manager for the Dragon spacecraft and Director of Civil Business Development. He was responsible for managing cargo Dragon through ISS Safety Review certification and led SpaceX’s Human Rating initiatives for crew Dragon. Other responsibilities included advanced concept development for heavy lift launch vehicles, reuseable boosters and lunar landers.
With mv2space, Mr. Vozoff has led business development strategy and implementation, customer and investor outreach and connections, sales and marketing, proposal creation, program formulation and management, licensing discussions and technical review for multiple companies, either as a consultant or as a founding member.
Dr. Marco Villa grew up in Italy and developed an early passion for airplanes and spacecraft. After obtaining his private pilot license and serving in the Italian Parachutists Corp, Marco received his Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering in 1999 from Politecnico di Milano, Italy.
Marco moved to the United States in 2000 and earned his Master’s Degree and Doctorate in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Kansas in 2002 and 2005 respectively, and also a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management. While earning these degrees, Marco lead their high altitude balloon and cubesat satellite development projects, worked as a system engineer and project manager for Swales Aerospace, and as a contractor for NASA (Autonomous Flight Safety System) and the Air Force (TacSat 3).
In 2007, Marco joined Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX), where he rose to the position of Director of Mission Operations, with responsibilities over the selection and training of operators, ground segment architecture, mission planning, and the final integration, on-orbit operations and recovery of the Dragon spacecraft. Marco was integral in the effort to secure and successfully execute $2.5B in contracts for ISS cargo resupply and crewed Dragon development programs, while also supporting the sales and business development department. A certified Mission Director for Dragon missions to the International Space Station, Marco has been part of multiple successful missions, including lead roles over ISS approach and departure. Before leaving SpaceX in 2013, Marco played an important role in the on-going effort to develop the crewed version of the Dragon capsule, with responsibilities ranging from the definition of the overall concept of operations, to the establishment of the crew training methodology.
Marco has worked
on some of the most advanced and cutting-edge programs in the industry, from
technology demonstration satellites to leading commercial efforts. Through his
career, Marco developed a unique expertise that combines business management,
finance and technical knowledge.
